Livingston Neighborhood/Community Guide

As a newly established neighborhood, Livingston is an envisioned community where everything the residents need is accessible. Livingston is expected to provide 11,000 homes to residents of Calgary, plus one million square feet of commercial and institutional space to reach until Stoney Trail.

The community is 519 hectares of land straddling Centre Street, west of Deerfoot Trail, behind communities such as Auburn Bay, Cranston, New Brighton and Symons Gate, according to Calgary Herald.

Livingston Community Association

Since the development is still underway, the plan is already clear and waiting for construction. The Livingston Homeowner’s Association is going to be 30,000 square feet and is expected to open in 2020. The HOA will include a daycare and community kitchen.

Livingston Amenities

According to Calgary Herald, Livingston will have a main street and commercial hub, estimated to add more than 7,000 full-time jobs. Brookfield Residential’s COO Trent Edwards said that the neighborhood will see both big box stores and smaller businesses – the downtown of the north.

20 percent of Livingston will be for 12 parks and six schools. The developer is also going to put up a 30,000-square-foot association facility for the residents. The first phase of the development has commenced and 400 homes are planned to finish in this phase.

Trails and pathways will be made available for walking, running, cycling and rollerblading. A network of paved pathways, walkable streets and interconnected parks will bring nature close to home and encourage active living. Recreational facilities nearby will also be accessible to make quality time worthwhile.
